Tianning Economic Development Zone is located in the main urban area of Changzhou, a famous city in the Yangtze River Delta. It covers an area of 50 square kilometers with a population of about 200,000. Tianning Economic Development Zone has always adhered to innovation-driven development with its own characteristics.
In order to form a city-industry pattern with regional competitiveness, it initially put forward the development concept based on “two cores” and “two belts”.
The first core is urban economy – Changzhou Financial Business District, which is shaping a new center of Tianning district and leading the concentrated development of urban economy.
The second core is intelligent manufacturing industry – a small town based on the fundamental intelligent manufacturing industry and supported by the development of headquarters office, science and technology service, life and health, ecological community and other industries.
The first belt is the producer service industry belt along the Qingyang Elevated Way. The transformation and upgrading of traditional industrial enterprises on both sides of the Qingyang Elevated Way will be accelarated. Idle plants will be reconstructed and industrial land parcels will be reshaped to promote the concentrated development of producer service industries, such as the inspection, testing and certification industry, the cultural and creative industry and the human resources service industry.
The second belt is the themed tourism function belt along the East Hehai Road. Taking advantages of its convenient transportation and geographic proximity to the China Dinosaur Park, Tianning Economic Development Zone will introduce large theme park operators and develop extension services such as tourist distribution, catering and entertainment, commerce and shopping, cultural and creative industry, etc.
Tianning Economic Development Zone has persevered in concentrated development over the past ten years. With persistent efforts, products and industries in the zone have been transformed into industrial chains and industrial parks, promoting the interaction and synergy of development factors like technology, talent, project and capital. Six major advanced manufacturing industries have been formed, e.g. the health industry based on AVIC Jiangsu Yuanqi Health Industrial Park ; the civil-military integration industry on the basis of Changzhou Civil-Military Integration Industrial Park ; the intelligent manufacturing industry represented by Changzhou Kaite Industrial Robots Co., Ltd. and other high-tech enterprises; the modern garment industry represented by Changzhou Able Jeans Co., Ltd. and Changzhou Xurong Knitting, Printing And Dyeing Co., Ltd.; the new energy and new materials industry represented by Changzhou Almaden Co., Ltd., Changzhou Tiansheng New Materials Co., Ltd., Eaton Electrical Equipment Co. Ltd. and Changzhou Shangneng Transformer Co., Ltd. ; and the auto parts industry with companies like Changzhou Qingyang Plastic Technology Co., Ltd. as the representatives. The industrial level and pattern has been significantly improved.
In the service sector, Tianning Economic Development Zone focuses on producer service industries, striving to build the ‘Industrial Cluster 2.5’ on the basis of original industrial resources. The industrial cluster 2.5 is based on high-end talents, driven by science and technology innovation, focused on research and development, and supported by innovation and entrepreneurship. The aim is to build a high-quality financial business district in Changzhou for the development of financial services; to accelerate the establishment of China Changzhou Inspection, Testing and Certification Industrial Park for the development of inspection, testing and certification industry; to expand the logistics center near the Nanjing-Shanghai Expressway Qinglong crossing for the development of modern logistics industry; to vigorously build up the Tianning District Human Resources Industrial Park for the development of human resources services; to enhance the upgrading of Hundsun Science & Technology Park, New Power Incubation Center , entrepreneurial service center, Gaoshi Science & Technology Park and so on for the development of science and technology service industry; and to speed up the construction of the headquarters of Shengyu, ChangJia Hongbiao , and many more for the development of headquarters economy. The pattern and content of Industrial Cluster 2.5 has been fully explored. At the same time, great efforts have been made in the development of consumer service industries.
