World Industrial and Energy Internet Expo kicks off in Changzhou

  The 2019 World Industrial and Energy Internet Expo opened in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province on June 20.

  An important outcome amid the deep integration between the new generation of information technology and real economy, industrial and energy Internet serve as important platforms for manufacturing industry to become digital, Internet connected, and intelligent, key means to achieve high-quality economic development too.

  In recent years, Jiangsu has accelerated the deep integration of technology and industry, supported the development of intelligent manufacturing and industrial Internet, and promoted efforts to establish an independent and controllable advanced manufacturing system. The province has continuously optimized the economic structure, boosted the growth momentum, and steadily improved quality and efficiency.

  As an important birthplace of China’s modern industry and a key advanced manufacturing base in the Yangtze River Delta region, Changzhou currently has 4,457 industrial enterprises above designated size. In 2018, the output value of the top ten industries covering new energy, intelligent manufacturing equipment, smart grid and new generation of information technology increased by 12.8 percent year-on-year, contributing 44 percent to the growth of the city's output value.

  The city has actively implemented decisions made by the central government and the province regarding the integration of Internet and advanced manufacturing industry, forming distinctive advantages in intelligent manufacturing, industry and energy Internet and also increasing the industrial competitiveness.

  In the 2019 Industrial and Energy Internet Summit, the expo released the Changzhou Declaration. A number of heavyweight speakers from both home and abroad make keynote speeches, introducing ideas on a wide range of areas.

  The expo is also to release a report about Time Sensitive Networking, a key topic about industrial Internet.

  Besides the main summit and a number of sub-forums, the expo showcased the wide application of industrial and energy Internet in nine fields, such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data, and smart cities.

  With an exhibition area of 12,000 square meters, the expo attracted 77 exhibitors including Honeywell, Intelligence, Huawei, China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, Dawning Information Industry, Yangtze River Intelligent Manufacturing Research Institute, DeepBlue Technology’s AI Chip Research Institute, and Huawei Shenzhen Research Institute. Changzhou had 21 local companies at the expo, such as Trina Solar, Wangbang NE, and CAXA.
